I’m delighted to hear that my artist friend Alessandro Raho has a new book out featuring his work from 1990’s to the present day. It’s the first one dedicated solely to his work and I have just bagged myself a copy from Amazon. The book will be no substitute for seeing his beautifully crafted paintings in the flesh, but it is an accessible way of experiencing and familiarising yourself with his work before his next exhibition.
I have been lucky enough to sit for Alessandro myself. I wasn’t very good at it as I’m too self conscious and awkward, but he did make this portrait of me which now hangs in The Groucho Club, London…pretty cool hey! (incidentally I do usually smile more than this).
