I think it’s fair to say that parliament can be quite a stuffy place with plenty of old school, staid rigmarole. However within it’s walls are an abundance of MP’s bucking the trend and presenting a new, more diverse face to our nations politics. Two such people are Jess Phillips and Carolyn Harris who fight daily to dispel this notion that parliament is just an old boys club made up of middle aged white men. Working together and separately they place womens rights and other serious issues at the forefront of their policies, yet aren’t afraid to bring a bit of levity and light into the building. On the journey down to the great hall elevator topics included- who has the best hair and who is the best dressed in parliament- just normal stuff we all talk about.
