After being given a string of male bands to photograph for The Fly recently (a couple of which have had half/full naked members- not that I’m complaining JJ!), I was relieved to finally be given a pretty lady to shoot.
Anna Calvi has been shot by many great photographers, having a strong visual style of her own and equally dramatic music to boot, so I felt it necessary to find a brooding location to compliment this.
Even though we had not discussed outfits, Anna turned up in the perfect shade of blue to enhance the colour of the walls and a trademark red lip.
She was both sweet and compliant and even though time is often tight with these shoots, her photogenic nature and understanding of image made for a swift and successful shoot.
