Souk Salad with Spiced Aubergines and Pistachio Yoghurt

For the revamped cookery pages of this months WI Life, I worked with Rachel de Thample to shoot the making of a recipe from her latest book FIVE. The concept was to energise the previous page format, supplying food reportage shots covering the recipe being made which then sit alongside styled, finished dish shots. I shot a more free, lifestyle portrait to go with the feature also.

It’s the fourth time I have worked with Rachel and each time has been a pleasure, there’s a lovely familiarity that comes from working with people more than once, and the bonus with this shoot is that I got to devour the tasty salad afterwards.
