Keeping the Faith: London chaplains in the time of Covid

In November when the second Lockdown struck and commissioned work once again dissolved into dust, I began photographing Christian chaplains around London to see how they are still able to serve different types of congregations and how they are coping themselves with the extra mental anguish we all have. The project started as an attempt to keep myself sane and to keep me lit inside with the joy I get from photographing people, but I soon realised that the stories unfolding were important and revelatory of how different groups in our society have dealt with the pandemic.

Some of the series was featured on the BBC, but I’ve been continuing the project since then and will reveal the rest of the subjects in an online exhibition during Holy Weeks which is hosted by and in collaboration with St Columba’s Church of Scotland in London.
