Last week I photographed a promotional shoot for Auto Windscreens, spending a day in their newly refurbished training facility in Chesterfield, which rather conveniently afforded me a pitstop home to Derby en route. Alongside the main lifestyle images showcasing the technicians repair/replacement skills, I was also asked to take profile portraits of the training staff for the academy walls. I accompanied the more relaxed location shots with some staged portraits against a blue background, the idea being to emulate those brilliant old school workers portraits from the early 1900’s. Each technician chose a different tool and posed with as neutral an expression as they could muster, enhancing their individual characters. They were all so different and the guys were such great sports, I was very grateful to them for humoring my idea and being so helpful throughout the day. Here’s a handful but the complete set will be in the Stories section of my website soon.
