Last year, I had the opportunity to meet some lovely photographers down at Focus On Imaging at the NEC, Birmingham.
Whilst working at the trade show with the film crew, I became interested in the notion that people flock to Focus not only to try out new equipment, but also to search out the show bargains. What I discovered was that many people make a pilgrimage to Focus with a shopping list full of items which they know will be heavily discounted at the show.
I started a mini project photographing some of the visitors with their ‘best bargains’ and I’m really pleased to say the organisers have picked up on it and made it part of the actual Focus on Imaging 2012 show. The project ties in perfectly with this years advertising theme of putting photographers behind the lens. I will have my own photobooth stand so if anyone is going, be sure to look me up at the show.
