Hailing from a similar area in the Midlands, we had plenty to talk about in the fast and furious few minutes we spent together. Offering up local pub recommendations for my Mum and sussing out mutual hangout’s from earlier years, it was really nice to be in the ostentatious centre of London yet recall with nostalgia and warmth the merits of growing up in Derbyshire. It’s especially comforting to feel such kinship with someone whose career has sky-rocketed in recent years, Jack is currently taking a lead role in Money Monster opposite George Clooney and Julia Roberts. It seems like he is still earthed with those Derbyshire roots and all the better for it. His parting phrase was to send my Mum his love and with a laugh he was gone, off to the next interview.
