For this months ‘N Magazine’, which is the inflight glossy for Norwegian Airlines, I was commissioned to photograph a series of portraits to celebrate the 150th birthday of the underground.
Included in these portraits were ghost station expert Ben Pedroche, data analyst Dr.James Cheshire who has created an infographic based around life expectancy in those living around each station, the current Tube Challenge world record holder Andi James and Mark Mason, a writer who has trekked the whole route of the underground but above ground and published a book about it.
The shoots were spread over a few days and were a prime example of stealth shooting as we didn’t always have the necessary permits and the stations were often quite busy. With this in mind, I opted to do two versions for each person and use props to help illustrate their particular expertise.
