On one of those roasting hot summer days we had this year (it’s amazing I get to talk in plurals about sunny days!), I photographed iconic 80’s pop star Rick Astley. Looking fresh and relaxed after a trip to Ibiza, himself and his wife Lena  suggested we went to their favourite cafe to do the interview kindly offering us breakfast and coffee, with plenty of time to shoot after. Over a flat white, I got to chat away to his wife about her film work and the plans they have for their new Shoreditch bar venture with hipster Danish beer crew Mikkeller. Rick has his own beer with them already called Northern Hop, which I got to sample after the shoot, and this October they opened the doors to their latest offering on Hackney Road in London.
