The Vaccines at The Sebright Arms

Last week I was commissioned by The Fly to shoot The Vaccines secret intimate gig at The Sebright Arms in Hackney.
For the band, it was the first time they have played in such a small venue for quite some time so it was with a veritable fondness they rocked out their old hits alongside new songs which feature on the forthcoming album.
Unfortunately at the start I was too busy trying not to be squashed by the hoardes to properly enjoy the gig as I had unwittingly placed myself in the mosh pit but then i was forced to move when a bigger boy with a camera stood in front of me and so kept getting in my shots.
But all was well in the end as I had borrowed a super long lens from the life saving Gemma Day so I was able to find a ledge where I could watch on in relative comfort and actually look through the viewfinder rather than just holding my camera up in the air and hoping for the best.
It wasn’t exactly pretty (I was quite sweaty when I left-gross) but it was certainly an experience and nice to see a band give back to their fans in such a warm, intimate way.
