This shoot was one of the most challenging and stressful for ages, not for any fault of Zandra’s. After expecting to be given an exclusive time slot during a press junket for a community garden Zandra had co-designed with gardener Joe Swift, it turned out that there had been a miscommunication somewhere down the line so I was left to frantically battle with the other photographers vying for her attention to get the shots I wanted. It was a flurry of elbow jabs, unintentionally standing on peoples feet, flying umbrellas and having to shout loudly to be heard but I am happy with the shots and if anything, the grey weather only accentuates the vibrancy of colour on show so it wasn’t all bad.
The writer Jessica even had to walk her home in order to get an accompanying interview.
